This is a live recording of the "Silver Jubilee Concert" held at Carnegie Hall in New York in February 1953, as a special project commemorating the 120th anniversary of Horowitz's birth and the 25th anniversary of his American debut. This complete version includes all the works that were cut from the LP version due to recording time limitations.
It features Horowitz's first repertoire, including Schubert's Piano Sonata No. 21 and Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 9 "Black Mass," showcasing a new side of his musical expression.
