It's been a long time since we've heard Mariah sing with such freedom! From "It's Like That," which features phrases from Kris Cross's "The Way Of Rhyme," to club-oriented tracks produced by The Neptunes with Snoop Dogg and Nelly, to mid-tempo tracks like "One And Only," where her fast vocals and Twista's rapid-fire rhyming are perfectly intertwined, and "Your Girl," which makes full use of her high-pitched voice, the album continues. After "Stay The Night," which is arguably the best Kanye West work in recent years, the album concludes with "Fly Like A Bird," seemingly inspired by Denise Williams, leaving the listener with the feeling of having just finished watching a grand movie. The way the album incorporates the essence of the 70s and 80s is superb, and personally, this is the most well-balanced R&B album I've heard since Usher's "Confessions"!! The quirky bonus tracks featuring Swizz Beatz and Mahogany are also a must-listen. The sheer volume of content is truly astonishing.
