Kim Petras" became Sam's first number one hit on the US singles chart, and it was a historic achievement, marking the first time a transgender and non-binary artist had topped that chart. (His previous peak on the US singles chart was at number 2 with "Stay With Me," released in 2015.) The

album features appearances from renowned artists such as Ed Sheeran, Jessie Reyes, and Kim Petras. He has teamed

up with producers who have brought numerous hit songs to the world, including British music producer Jimmy Napes, known for "Stay With Me" and "I'm Not the Only One," as well as Stargate (who co-produced Sam Smith's "Dancing with a Stranger with Normani" with Jimmy Napes) and Ilya Salmansadeh (who produced Sam Smith's "How Do You Sleep?"). Sam

says that with this album he has "grown even more and been able to overcome dark times," and he hopes that this album will be a beacon of hope for listeners. Sam also calls this album a "personal revolution," and it faithfully reflects who Sam Myth is today, consisting of creative, dazzling, luxurious, sophisticated, unexpected, and sometimes thrilling and edgy sounds, along with lyrics that touch on sex, lies, passion, self-expression, and imperfection.

Following the success of "Unholy," his first US number one hit in collaboration with Kim Petras, his fourth album is a magnificent culmination of his talent. However, there are no other tracks with the same nasty atmosphere or hyper-pop-influenced groove as "Unholy." Instead, the album focuses on his signature slow and ballad-style tracks, such as the heartfelt opening track "Love Me More," and contrasting them with his past work highlights his inner maturity and transformation. While Jimmy Napes and Stargate primarily take center stage, releasing a gentle and uninhibited atmosphere, there's also the melancholic dance track "Lose You" by Sarkut and others, and the lovely disco track "I'm Not Here To Make Friends" with Calvin Harris. He even tries a reggae-influenced beat with guest artist Kofi on "Gimme." This is a fulfilling album that conveys his confidence in his own expression.
