This is her second album, released shortly after her groundbreaking debut album, and reached number 4 on the US charts. The lead single, "Emotions," topped the US charts for the fifth consecutive time (three consecutive weeks). The album features legendary producer Walter Afanassiev and the up-and-coming dance unit C+C Music Factory, who were attracting attention at the time. With a good balance of ballads such as "Can't Let Go" (US No. 2) and dance numbers such as "Make It Happen" (US No. 5), this album can be said to have established the direction in which she would go from album to album.
