This is one of the most representative recordings of Beethoven's sonatas by Haebler and Szeryng in their prime

　. It is a representative recording for both Szeryng and Haebler, featuring the complete Beethoven sonatas. Rather than a master-servant relationship, it can be heard as an elegant and calm Beethoven, like a mature dialogue between the two. Szeryng has some earlier recordings of some pieces with Rubinstein, but with Haebler she delivers a more meticulous and persuasive performance. This complete recording is considered one of the most brilliant among the many available.
　Recorded when she was in her late 40s to 50s, this recording has been released several times, including as an import, but has been out of print for some time. For this release, the sound quality has been improved and it has been reissued. It is also recommended as a first choice when listening to sonatas. Winner of the 1980 (18th) Record Academy Award for Best Recording.
